2007 Rule Changes

 
  1.1.1. Membership Cost and Privileges
All Howard County Horse Show Association, Inc. (HCHSA) shows are open to both members and non- members. Two types of annual memberships are available: Individual Junior $25.00 and Individual Senior $30.00. An annual registration fee of $10.00 per animal is required to qualify for year end awards. All riders and horses/ponies must be registered with the association annually for points to count in all divisions, including all equitation classes and HCHSA Medal Classes. Rights and privileges to members include:
a. Right to vote as Senior Members

1.1.2 Points and Championships
Championships will be given in all divisions at the annual awards banquet to registered animals ridden by members of the HCHSA in a minimum of 5 shows that accumulated the most points in that division. NARHA & Jumpers must show in a minimum of 3 shows. Awards will be given 1 through 6. Attendance at a show will not count until horse or pony is registered. No yearend awards will be presented in any division for any horse or pony or individual accumulating less than 10 points in their respective division. NARHA and Lead Line divisions are exempt from this rule.

1.2.3 Show Limitations
Any one organization/management shall be limited to a maximum of three HCHSA point shows per year.

2.1.1. Leadline
Open to riders 7 and under as of December 1st of the previous year.

2.1.2. Mini Stirrup
Open to riders 8 and under as of December 1st of the previous year.

2.1.3. Short Stirrup
Open to riders 10 and under as of December 1st of the previous year.

2.3.1. Children's Hunter
Open to riders who have not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the previous year. Open to horses only. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going, suitability and soundness. Fences 2'3 and 2'6. Rider's preference.

2.5.6. Hopeful Hunter
Open to horses & ponies. Judged on performance, manners, and way of going, suitability, and soundness. Fences not to exceed 2'3. Adults may ride ponies.

2.7.2 Adult Pleasure
Open to amateurs riding horses or ponies of any breed suitable for English riding. Good manners are essential both in executing the gaits and while lined up in the ring. No martingales. Fences not to exceed 2'.

2.8.3 Hopeful Jumpers
Open to all riders, horses, and ponies where cross entering allows. Adults may ride ponies. Fences 2' to 2'6.
