Howard County Horse Shows Association Junior Board - Who Are We |

|
The HCHSA JUNIOR BOARD, started 6 years ago, is an active
and productive organization that continues to provide junior riders between the
ages of 12 and 18 with a great opportunity to give back to their equestrian
association. Our primary goal is to
raise funds for the HCHSA JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND, which in turn,
is presented to a young rider every year at the Awards Banquet. We also pride ourselves on acting as mentors
to all our younger riders at the horse shows. We meet almost every month at different members’ homes to
discuss ways that we can actively participate in the rewarding goal of raising
funds for the Scholarship. We have a
tent at most of the local shows selling items that we create or design. Sweatshirts, hoodies, sweatpants, jewelry,
polos, tees, flip-flops, and belts are available to our members. By purchasing
something from the Junior Board, you are supporting our HCHSA. Every year at our Finale, the Junior Board hosts a
MENTORSHIP CLASS for all our Lead-Liner and Mini Short Stirrup riders. A Junior Board teaching judge offers helpful
hints for our younger riders to further improve their riding skills. Riders are led by a member of the Junior
Board through a simple walking obstacle course. The class is free, and everyone receives our traditional Rainbow
Ribbon and a bag of cool prizes.
